This first few minutes of this video illustrate the part of the program in which a drill instructor comes by the house of the child to pick him/her up.
He is then transported to our facilities.
At this moment the program has begun.
The child will remain with us for the following three days.
The first encounter with discipline and respect for the male children will be when they are
faced with a haircut--bald head.
No females go through the hair cutting process unless requested by parents.
After the haircut, the youth go through a rigorous introduction to physical exercise.
As the video shows, some youth begin giving out excuses such
as "I am too tired" or they even try to manipulate there way out, the same way they do at home.
But things had just begun and the youth were taken to a place where they would spend the next
48 hours
At down, they learn a lesson about being grateful for their families and their beloved ones.
We asked how they feel after the first few hours.
They believe they still have so much to learn.
Now it is time to go back to the place where they begun this journey.
Joel sees his mother once again but with a different perspective. Hopefully, one for the best.
